Plankton Invasion, the web series

There are billions of them and they need more space, meaning MORE WATER.
Plankton, MINUSCULE MARINE CREATURES with a gigantic Napoleon complex, are planning to conquer the earth. A 'planktonic team' of two soldiers and a scientist is sent ashore to complete operation 'GLOBAL WARMING'. Their mission: TORCH the planet, MELT the polar ice, DROWN all land and RULE the world!

The idea behind the concept: flipping the usual environmental message on its head. What if drawing silly characters could help save the planet… Things go better with a smile, which is why those tiny heroes are out to drown us all.

In 2007, Joeri comes up with the concept of PLANKTON INVASION, an after-hours project that becomes an online mini-series of six 'webisodes' self-produced under the roof of Tinkertree.

A few thousands visits and hundreds of enthusiastic posts later, the project is taken to the next level: French producer TeamTO picks up the project for a TV series development, in coproduction with Canal+, Vivi Film and Tinkertree, with the support of the VAF, the PROCIREP-ANGOA and the CNC.

The project is also the first animation series to ever receive the 'United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development' label from the UNESCO.

The TV series is currently in production, with Joeri as the supervising director.
